Rates & Policies

As a practice dedicated to meeting our consumers where they're at, we aim to provide competitive prices that allows people to feel they are getting what they pay for.  We want to provide services that people are looking for and with that in mind, we offer a FREE initial phone consultation.  Rates are as follows:

Initial phone consultation (15 mins)...................................Free

Individual therapy.............................................$125.00 per hour

Individual DBT skills coaching............................$50.00 per hour

Group therapy................................................$50.00 per session

Evaluation and clinical assessment.................................$175.00

DBT/CBT consultation meeting............................$75.00 per hour

Fees and Payment Policy:  The out-of-pocket fee for an initial evaluation session is $175.00. The fee for subsequent routine 45-50 minute psychotherapy sessions is $125.00. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice for individual and group sessions (unless due to an emergency, such as an extreme weather situation, a death in the family, etc.) will incur a 50% fee of the service rate.  If there is a true emergency and the appointment can be rescheduled for the same week, no fee will be charged. If your insurance covers our sessions, you are responsible for the co-pay, co-insurance, and deductible charges at the time of the appointment. All cancellations/no show fees must be paid before the next session occurs.  Due to contract limitations, we are not able to bill insurance if we do not have a session.  If after a period of time we determine to not be the right fit, we are able to provide appropriate referrals.

In order for us to be able to make the most effective treatment decisions together, all payments must be received at the start of each session via check or cash.

Private Pay: We also offer private pay counseling and psychotherapy, which means that we do not bill an insurance company and instead you pay directly to a member of the practice.  Some people choose to pay out of pocket because they like to feel that they want to know that no personal information will be disclosed to any third party (such as a health insurance company that authorizes services related to mental health or substance abuse, an insurance company that offers disability or life insurance coverage, etc.). Others have decided to meet with members of the practice even when they have insurance coverage (though it may not cover our meetings due to our being out-of-network) because they feel that the therapeutic connection is so positive and important, and they find a high "goodness-of-fit" with us. We have heard from current (and former clients) who pay out of pocket that they feel especially empowered in our sessions because they are making a real investment in themselves, and as such, take more ownership in the therapy process.

Getting Coverage for Out-of-Network Providers:  If you intend to pay out of pocket, it may be worthwhile to explore whether your insurance plan offers out-of-network benefits that would cover a percentage of our fees. If you'd like to find out whether your insurance company would reimburse you for the cost of counseling/therapy with us, we encourage you to contact your insurance company asap.
